A Soundtrack for Everyday Working Professionals

The Professional Health Project, Vol. 1 is an original music collection written to capture the emotional landscape of modern work — the dreams, the doubts, the exhaustion, the ambition, and the quiet moments that shape who we are between nine and five.

Created under Harlem River — the musical storytelling extension of the Professional Health™ movement — this project blends narrative, melody, and lived professional experiences into a cinematic universe of sound. Every lyric is written by hand. Every narrative comes from a real emotion. Technology helps bring the music to life, but the heart behind it is entirely human.

This project is for the people who have ever felt:

  • unseen or overlooked at work

  • stuck between staying and leaving

  • burned out but still pushing through

  • underestimated but quietly rising

  • ready for more but unsure where to start

  • longing for meaning in the midst of routine

  • confident enough to choose themselves

Vol. 1 tells their stories — our stories — through sound.

Why This Project Exists

As I developed Professional Health™, one truth became undeniable:
Some emotions can’t be captured through frameworks, assessments, or coaching conversations alone.

Some feelings need melody.
Some stories need rhythm.
Some truths only surface through art.

Harlem River was created to give sound to the emotional side of work — the inner life professionals carry into every meeting, commute, decision, and moment of doubt or courage.

This album expands the Professional Health™ universe into music and storytelling, offering a new way to reflect, heal, feel seen, and reconnect with yourself.

These songs explore themes such as:

  • burnout and boundaries

  • ambition and identity

  • confidence, clarity, and courage

  • starting over

  • feeling unseen

  • finding your voice again

  • leaving what no longer aligns

  • rediscovering your worth

Each track opens a window into the unseen corners of our professional lives — the ones we rarely express out loud.

Friday Morning

A song about realizing one’s value, worth, and the desire for more and/or better.

Friday Morning, Pt. 2

A song about finding empowerment to walk away from a job or company that undervalues one’s the gifts, talents and potential.

Lowest Valley

A song about being unemployed and leaning on hope and faith to stay encouraged while waiting for the next job.

Open to Work

A song about the stigma of being unemployed, the emotional and mental toll of being in-between jobs, and how to center one’s professional needs while going through the job search process.

Imposter Syndrome

A song about wrestling with doubt and insecurities while navigating one’s career.

The vision behind Harlem River

Harlem River exists to translate the experiences behind Professional Health™ into art — to tell the stories of everyday professionals through sound, narrative, and emotion. It is a creative home for music about work, meaning, and the pursuit of a healthier relationship with both.

The mission is simple: to help people feel understood, empowered, and seen — through the universal language of music.
